Diphu, Jan 03: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma spearheaded a dynamic election campaign for his party’s candidates contesting in the Gorompani MAC constituency and Khordong MAC constituency. The campaign meeting for both constituencies took place at Umrongso, where the Chief Minister called upon the residents to rally behind the BJP, aiming to reclaim power for the betterment of the constituencies. Dr. Sarma, in his address, pledged free ration for all families through ration cards, underlining the party’s commitment to welfare and development. Additionally, he highlighted ongoing road construction projects and assured the continuation of infrastructure development.

In a separate campaign event at Doyongbra playground, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma threw his support behind party candidate Rupali Langthasa, competing in the Doyongbra MAC Constituency. Addressing the crowd, he highlighted the significant transformation witnessed since the BJP took office, citing improvements in roads, hospitals, colleges, electricity, and water supply. The Chief Minister urged the constituency to vote for Rupali Langthasa, emphasizing continuity in development. The unified presence of key political figures further underscored the party’s commitment to the constituency’s progress, with the Chief Minister’s visit aimed at resonating with voters and solidifying support for the upcoming elections.

The chief minister was accompanied by key political figures, including State Water Resources, Information & Public Relations, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pijush Hazarika, Power, State Sport & Youth Welfare, Cooperation, and Indigenous Tribal Faith & Culture Minister Nandita Gorlosa, MP Horen Sing Bey, NCHAC CEM Debolal Gorlosa, MLA Darsing Ronghang, KAAC EM Richard Tokbi, EM Madhuram Lekthek, EM Amarsing Tisso, and several EMs and MACs.

It may be mentioned that the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) election will be held next week on Tuesday (January 8).
