Delhi, Jan 07:Rafael Nadal, who recently made a comeback in Brisbane, has decided to withdraw from the upcoming Australian Open. The tennis star shared this announcement on social media, revealing that he encountered a minor muscle issue during his last match in Brisbane. After undergoing an MRI in Melbourne, Nadal confirmed the presence of a micro tear in a muscle, albeit in a different area from his previous injury, which he considered a positive development.
Currently, Nadal feels unprepared to compete at the demanding level required for 5-set matches and has opted to return to Spain for further evaluation, treatment, and rest under the guidance of his doctor. Despite the disappointment of missing the opportunity to play in front of the Melbourne crowds, Nadal remains optimistic about his overall season outlook.
