Delhi, Dec 27: With objective of reviving support and making comeback in  the 2024 general elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhiis gearing up for the ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra,’ scheduled to take place from January 14 to March 20 next year.

The grand old party aims to engage with diverse communities directly through ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ which has been rechristened from ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ put forth by the Congress Working Committee. Accepting this directive, the former Congress president expressed his commitment to lead the yatra, emphasizing the significance of direct interactions with youth, women, and marginalized communities during the journey.

The ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ which will cover a distance of 6,400 kilometers, is set to commence in Manipur and conclude in Mumbai, traversing through 14 states, including Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra and will cover14 states and 85 districts.

Primarily organized as a bus yatra with intermittent walking stretches, the choice of Manipur as the starting point is attributed to its importance as an integral part of the country, and the party aims to initiate a process of healing in the aftermath of severe ethnic conflicts in the region as the state has witnessed intense ethnic conflicts between the Kuki and Meitei communities, resulting in significant casualties and displacements. While the earlier ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ addressed economic disparities, polarization, and dictatorship, the focus of the ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ will be on advocating for social, economic, and political justice for the people of the nation. Additionally, the Congress party will mark its foundation day with a ‘Hain Tayyar Hum’ rally in Nagpur.
