Delhi, Jan 05: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has chosen Swati Maliwal, the Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, as its nominee for the Rajya Sabha. Further, the re-nomination of ND Gupta and Sanjay Singh has been confirmed. With a majority in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, the AAP is well-positioned to secure all three seats.
In anticipation of the elections scheduled for January 19, the Delhi Election Commission has initiated preparations, considering the conclusion of the current MPs’ six-year terms on January 27. This decision coincides with the impending conclusion of the six-year tenures of the current Rajya Sabha MPs from Delhi, namely Sanjay Singh, Sushil Kumar Gupta, and Narain Dass Gupta, later this month.
