Delhi, Dec 31: The Home Ministry, led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has officially declared ‘Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, J&K (TeH)’ as an ‘Unlawful Association’ under the UAPA, according to an announcement on Sunday in Srinagar.

Amit Shah stated, “The organization is engaged in prohibited activities with the aim of separating J&K from India and establishing Islamic rule. The group is actively spreading anti-India propaganda and perpetuating terrorist activities to promote secessionism in J&K.”

He further emphasized, “Under PM @narendramodi Ji’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, any individual or organization found involved in anti-India activities will be thwarted forthwith.”

The official press release from the PIB outlined the objectives of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Jammu and Kashmir (TeH), emphasizing its intent to separate Jammu and Kashmir from India and establish Islamic rule in the region. The organization has been accused of promoting terrorism and anti-India propaganda, contributing to the fostering of secessionist sentiments in Jammu and Kashmir. Numerous criminal cases have been registered against this organization under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Arms Act, RPC, and IPC.
