Guwahati, Jan 04: There are suspicions that a junior technician employed at IIT-Guwahati may have joined the banned Ulfa (I), according to Assam Police (special branch) ADGP Hiren Chandra Nath. An alert was triggered by a Facebook post indicating the IIT-Guwahati employee’s alleged association with the outfit.
ADGP Hiren Chandra Nath stated, “We have received a report about a junior technician of IIT-Guwahati, originally from Sivasagar, joining Ulfa (I). We are in the process of verifying the facts. I have requested a report from the Sivasagar SP. As of now, the person’s family has not filed any report with the police. Additionally, we have not received any report from the authorities at IIT-Guwahati.”
